Magnesium is a mineral that is present in the body. It is necessary for life.

  • You may overdose on magnesium, and taking magnesium for very long periods of time can have adverse side effects as can the long term usage of any laxative. Magnesium also tends to override other medications or vitamins that you may be taking. A two hour lapse in time should occur between taking magnesium and any other vitamin or medication.
